Ivan

Ivan Janer began singing, dancing and acting at the age of twelve starring in the opera “Amahl and The Night Visitor by Menotti”.  By fifteen he was dancing on television.  At eighteen he began performing with Broadway and Metropolitan Opera stars.  At the same time he achieved a BA in Bilingual Education from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master and Doctoral Degree in Opera Production and Stage Direction from the University of Washington in Seattle.  He has taught in elementary schools, junior high, high school and colleges and Universities in the United States, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.  He has written directed and designed original plays, musicals and operas.  Presently Ivan is the production designer for the AGAPE International Spiritual Center.  Having been involved with the arts at such an early age, Ivan believes in cultivating the joy and talent of a child without the child loosing his or her innocence.  “Sometime a child needs to learn different techniques.  No technique should be taught in a way that the child looses the joy of the art.”  “Each child is born with his or her own unique talent.  As teachers our job is to help guide the child in a way that his or her talent can freely flourish to fruition.”
